Maybe he was afraid. (Film Draft)

La Dolce Vita

This flies in the face of Taos’ (teasing?) assessment that newly viewed movies can’t be awarded the title of “favorite.”  It hasn’t been two weeks since I first drank in this highly regarded classic, but in that time, the film has remained vividly in my thoughts.  I’ve yet to return the copy mailed in from Netflix as I have my heart set on a second analysis.  Age will certainly entrench an impossible appreciation for it, but for now, let me have my unlearned love.

For those interested, Roger Ebert (also among Taos’ list of odiums) discusses La Dolce Vita and the chore of designating ‘favorites.’  Interesting, too, are the 250+ comments.

Just kidding. I just wanted to class this bitch up!

  2. Taos says:

I don’t hate Roger Ebert. I respect his opinion on many films—I believe his review of Lars and the Real Girl interested me enough to netflix it. Actually, have I ever gave an indication of despising Roger Ebert? I’m questioning my opinions now thanks to David. Hmmm….

  3. Taos says:

    I guess I should’ve read your comment first….

  4. David says:

Actually, my comment was a joke.

“Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”

But I was pretty sure you had expressed dislike towards Ebert on an occasion or two.

  5. David says:

    My bad, daaawg.
