… I remember a time of chaos. Ruined Dreams. This wasted land. But most of all, I remember The Road Warrior-Film Draft

The Road Warrior. Mad Max 2. Whatever you want to call it.

In my opinion, the quintessential post-apocalyptic vehicular action film of all time. I enjoy the crap out of the first one, but the sequel (especially on blu-ray) really ramps up the action. This film is basically a western with souped-cars. And not one of your romanticized John Wayne westerns; a real balls to the wall slightly anti-hero driven western in the vein of a typical Clint Eastwood western. There are flaws. Every film has ’em, but gosh darn is this film not a heck of a lot of fun. The end chase scene alone is worth a watch; probably one of the best chase scenes in cinematic history (note: I have not seen The French Connection which ranks up there on most lists).

I can’t think of a group of people who wouldn’t like this film. Mel for the ladies. Action for the men. Lots of homo-erotic overtones from the Lord Humungus. Western themes for the old timers… Oh, just go watch it already. On blu-ray preferably.
