Apparently it’s official.
Ryan Reynolds is Wally West Hal Jordan.

Huh. Well, Reynolds wasn’t anywhere on my personal radar for Jordan, particularly when fellow JLA’er, The Flash, should have a franchise rearing to begin anytime now.
And as /Film is quick to point out, what does this mean for Marvel’s Deadpool spin-off set up at rival studio Fox?

The Green Lantern, directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale), is slated to hit theaters June 17, 2011.

Although I’ve never read a Green Lantern comic and my only knowledge of the character comes from Justice League on Cartoon Network, I have faith in the guy.
I think he’s a decent actor who just hasn’t been given a good enough chance to prove himself yet. If he plays this role well, it could lead to a bevy of better non-generic comedies in which he doesn’t play the same character.
Blade 3 wasn’t his fault.
P.S. I haven’t seen Wolverine.
P.S.S. this is better for his career than a 2nd tier Marvel character movie. With the rights being owned by Fox, i’m sure they’d screw that film up.

Oh, Deadpool almost certainly would/will turn to crap. And I’m a fan of Reynolds. But I just don’t understand why WB/DC drops him in this when he was practically born to play Wally West. Regardless, I’ll be rooting for him.

P.S. Don’t see Wolverine. Ever. Never ever never.

No Wolverine!? Walt Flanigan ranks it higher than X-Men 1; however, I only trust the opinion of Scott Mosier. (SModcast #84 I believe).

Haha. Forgot. Well, Walt’s damn crazy.
Though, Storm’s Toad + lightning line very well may be the worst part of the entire series. Maybe.
